Main Task: Evaluation Final

Main Task: Contents Page Final

Main Task: Double Page Spread Final

Main Task: Front Cover Final

Main Task: Unmanipulated Photos

This Picture was meant to be my contents page but i chose not to use this because the background of the picture is not plain,.

This picture has been taken for my front cover because the positioning of the subject has created ideal space for my masthead and coverlines.

This picture will be used as my contents page, reason being for this is because it doesnt not include the subject of the front cover. Also there is a variety of people.

This picture is being used as my double page spread, this pictures positioning of the subject leaves space for text columns and main title.

This picture was meant to be my front cover but i chose not to use this because its lighting affects the way the subject is portrayed and gives the magazine a dull and dead vibe to it.

Main Task: Audience Research

People have voted for a bold eye-catching masthead rather than simple so for my magazine i will do that because it appeals to a larger audience according to the research. Also the majority of people chose a bright colour scheme which is unique, 80% of the questionees like the idea of interviews from the best artists in the UK. I have chose to follow the majorities vote because this would increase the percentage of the magazine appealing to the audience.

Main Task: Double Page Spread Textual Analysis

Denotation- The denotation of this double page spread is of a man "Rick Ross", this image is a long shot displaying his whole body, he is standing in a plain white background, this discards the audience about the setting making the image of the man more important showing his conventional formulaic style. He is holding a wine glass and a bottle of ace of spades. The drink that he is holding is very expensive so this is showing the audience that he is a wealthy being. Power, Respect and class is shown through the garments worn, the suade suite worn also very stylish and expensive.

Colour Scheme- The colour scheme of the double page spread is rather simple, it has a clear white background and the textual information is in black, this helps contrast between the colours. Also there is a corresponding colour patter with his costume.

Image- The double page spread shows a large image of a male standing up through the means of a long shot. This image takes up the whole page.

Stand First- This is an introductory paragraph usually in large font size and bold writing

Headline- the headline of this double page spread is across the top of the Page in large font size also it is underneath the Stand first upsidedown.

Columns- A double page spread usually has columns for its text, text does not usually go from one side of the page to the other on a double page spread.

Main Task:Introduction

My name is Ufuoma Akpotabore, I am an AS Media Student in Christ the King VI Form, for my coursework i have been given the task to create a Front Cover, Contents Page and a Double page spread for my music magazine. I have been giving a free option to choose from any genre and i will have to carry out pre-production research and planning before i create my magazine pages. For this project the genre i will choose is Rap/hip hop, reason being is that i feel fairly confortable with the genre because it is the type of music i listen to.
